Logical Bob

One day while Logical Bob was walking his dog through the park he overheard a man talking to a crowd of people about something that was up. Logical Bob decided to walk over and join the crowd. The man was saying something about looking up. Logical Bob had heard of this ridiculous concept of up before and was familiar with the obvious scam. The man finished his speech and asked were there any questions.

Everyone seemed excited and nobody asked any questions. Wanting to save these poor people from the obvious scam artist he raised his hand.

“You have a question friend?”, the man asked.

“Yes” said Logical Bob. ”

What exactly do you mean by saying we can look up?”

“Exactly that friend, we can look up and many people are looking up these days.”

“But there’s no such thing as an up” said Logical Bob.

“What ever do you mean?” asked the man.

“There is no “up”, only down. We’ve had a team of directional expert’s looking for up for a long time now and if there were such a direction they would have discovered it by now. There simply is no up anywhere to be found while looking down. This is a known scam!”.

“Where have they been looking?” asked the man.

“Everywhere. All over down. Even places deeper than normal people can search. You see they have developed special tools that allow them to go deeper and deeper and farther down than anyone has ever imagined and have by doing this discovered the origin of life. Seems there are layers of different types of sediment that they have determined are equal to the compounds found in the human body and that coincide with the layers of sediment. It’s fascinating stuff and they have ruled out the possibility of up years ago”.

The crowd was beginning to show signs of waking up from the hypnotic state the man had put them in when the man asked Logical Bob, “Have you ever questioned these experts about the possibility that they were simply looking in the wrong direction for up?”

“No, that would be silly”, said Logical Bob. That’s also illogical. Logically unless up can be found by looking down (the default direction) then there would be no reason to think it could exist anywhere else. This is the scam. To claim that you have to look in a direction that does not exist to discover a direction that does not exist is a presupposition and in philosophy that is also begging the question. If it existed we would be able to see it “now”, so why not just save us all the trouble of this make believe search and discovery mission of your make believe direction and just point it out now to all of us.”

The man pointed up.

“Any time you’re ready we don’t have all day” said Logical Bob.

“I already did”, said the man. “I just pointed up”.

“I didn’t see anything” said Logical Bob, never taking his eyes off the ground. “I have to go” said Logical Bob. “This is a complete waste of time and as you people can clearly see this man is trying to scam you” and the crowd dispersed leaving two people behind murmuring with each other.

“We saw where you were pointing and glanced in that direction and then we could see what you were pointing at” said one of the two. “All we had to do was change the direction we were looking in, just like you said”.

Great job Bob.

A word about testimony

There is a reason God chose personal testimony as the one and only way for me to deliver knowledge of Himself to anyone else.

“A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign, and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.” (Matthew 16:4)

This sign of Jonas is the actual Gospel, which is a “story” that the Son of Man will spend three days in the belly of the earth, and rise again. This story is all you get… period… that is if you are inclined to looking for “evidence” of the truth about mankind and his origin. This truth can be verified only by God Himself, and the testimony of the “Holy Spirit” which will be given to those that want it…again, period. There is no default “have to”and no imaginary, made up, arbitrary “rules” that apply, again…period.

Testimony is all you get. Why?

Many atheists seem to think atheism is an (or ‘the’) “default position”. This is interesting because I can remember in my earliest memories a “presence” that comforted me when “things”, (lights, shadows, sounds…) scared me. I remember this ‘presence’ as a “Comforter”, that was for all practical purposes “a parental superior”, (which actually had to rescue me from the fears my parents actually created). I remember this ‘presence’ was known to me and superior to my parents…and, (as I later learned), was actually called, “The Comforter”.

This Spirit is known to me now as “The Holy Spirit”. These memories were present before any knowledge of any God was available to me, as my family was not religious. Some of us have kept in touch with this spirit that comforted us in our infancy and learned of its name and constitution later in life when they could read and started to interact with the world.

Some had forgotten, and later in life were reminded by this same Spirit.

Who is giving me these words to type right now? My mind? My “ego”?

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 14:26 (KJV)

If God exists as a creator of “all that is”, then it logically follows that God is capable of imparting knowledge of Himself to anyone He decides to do so for. It also follows that such a manufacturer would only do so for those that have the common decency to humble themselves in the light of this knowledge that they are a manufactured being, which is what repentance actually means, and simply thank Him for their life, and ask the Him for their answers.

Social Media Atheist

If you are a Christian and post frequently on social media, you will no doubt run into the social media atheist. I blog a lot about how to deal with these atheist, and this post is an actual discussion I posted on one of the many “Theist vs Atheist” debate groups on Facebook. If you do run into these atheist and they are posting that God is a tyrant God, that says to worship Him or He will toss you in with the french fries, then you should explain to them their error. This is the actual post, and feel free to post it yourself on your favorite social media hangout where atheist pop in and out with these ideas. Remember, they got these ideas from religious fanatic fundamentalist.

Here is something to keep in mind. If indeed Christ has visited mankind, and assured some of us of Himself and life in general (which if Christ indeed exist now, He would be perfectly capable of doing), then it would be also true that to preach against this “good news” of His would also be an indoctrination; and this indoctrination would be without foundation of any rational known truth that it is based on, full stop. Here are a few quotes to consider from the op:

“So teaching children that myths are true is OK with you”
Does this look like a statement from known truth, or an assumption?

“I think electric shock treatment may be a little more humane… give the kid a shock collar.” Whut?

“This whole “wait until they’re adults and can choose for themselves” always sounds a little silly to me. Think about it, teaching your children no religion, is teaching them an irreligious worldview.”

These comments show the two worldviews, and the ideology behind the them. I understand the reasons for the division, and I think herein lies the problem. Many Atheist assume that the teachings of fundamentalist religious fanatics (that are no more spiritual than the Atheist themselves) are representative of spirituality, or “true religion”. (Please, no ‘no true Scotsman’ fallacy comments. Popular to contrary belief, not all situations qualify for a fallacy just because someone thinks the words in a sentence are in some sort of correct position, and yes, I wrote that in the position I wanted it 😀 ). The following statement is NOT at all true…

“I can’t think of anything more evil than brainwashing an innocent child to live in constant fear of eternal damnation, can you?”

Although the idea may true and I agree with it, it is not consistent with the Christian doctrine. Christ, His teachings, and the message of the Gospel tells an entirely different story. According to Scripture, man’s “common ancestor”, Adam, by his own free will and choice did something that caused the spiritual blindness and death of our entire race, which is literally the “death and hell” mentioned in Scripture. If you look at this passage, you will see that hell, and the lake of fire are not even the same thing, and also a second death that corresponds with the phrase “being born again” (which is literally born again of the spirit, and the reason for the division and blindness between theses two worldviews)

“And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death” (Rev.20:14 KJV).

So this hell is something we are all headed for, as many say, “by an inheritance of the natural evolution of Adam’s choice”. I’m sure nobody can argue this, lol (dreaming now). Christ came to redeem us from this natural curse of spiritual blindness and death, and offers a hand out of the pit, simple as that. There are many passages of Scripture dealing with the veil that is in place to blind mankind, and Christ lifting it allowing anyone to see the spiritual world clearly, again which if He exist now He would be capable of doing. God did not put us in this situation, our “common ancestor” did.

Now I’m sure that some here are quite happy with the state of affairs as is, and there is a ‘dug in’ ideology that …”it just is this way, and that’s just the dim truth of life”. This couldn’t be further from the truth, and this same Christ has healed the spiritual blindness of all who have accepted His offer so far. So you can keep your “just is” death is certain ideology if you wish, the choices Adam faced are still very much available, and still very real, no matter what you “believe”…trust God, or take your own chances under your own power, which is what it is, and I do wish you well if you do.

This blog post is a good analogy of what is actually the Gospel message. Please don’t think I’m trying to acquire converts, another fundi occupation. If you want to jump off a cliff, knock yourself out. I think it’s sad, but I can’t hold anybody’s hand here, and wouldn’t if I could. I am simply relating a truth that many of us know to be absolutely true. We are also aware that some represent this knowledge as “blind hope”. It may have been hope at one point that led us to search for the truth, but once found, the truth has made us free from hope and uncertainty, and you can do whatever you want to with this information.

A Letter To Atheist

Reality check. Just a little something for the one hit wonder Atheist that don’t have any discussion points except…

“Hand him over“?

Logically, if the personal God of the Bible exist, then He would have a choice in this debate, to become a rock or other such inanimate object (that has no choice but to be ‘handed over’).

Logically, if God does exist, then how reasonable is it to say, “if you can’t hand me God, he can’t logically exist”?

This statement is equally as silly…

“If you can’t produce physical evidence of a nonphysical (or spiritual) aspect of our physical universe, then I can logically assume it doesn’t exist”. This is also an oxymoron.

If Jesus can travel between different worlds and realms, and actually holds the keys to death and life (as recorded in Scripture), then it is entirely possible, logical, and reasonable to assume that He would do so for humility (also as recorded), and totally ignore arrogance, and pride, (again, as recorded).

I’m sorry, but you have no logical grounds to say God can’t exist because He validates His existence according to the protocol recorded in Scripture, but not for people that don’t know how to follow simple instructions, or refuse to.

You really want us to “demonstrate God”?
“Reproduce God”
You really want to test God at the lab, to make sure He’s God?

Ironically, the people that make these absurd request would do just that, if they could, which they can’t. Thank God it has not one thing to do with reality. You neither have a logical argument, nor a reasonable one. In fact, the scientist that are also Christians actually followed this protocol, and obtained the evidence that now supports their claim of the knowledge of God’s existence. This is no longer “belief”; we know God. In Scripture this protocol is referred to as ordinances, because (duhh) they have to be done in order.

I’m pretty sure “show me you’re real now God or else” is out of order. The very first ordinance is to humble yourself… so I’m sorry arrogance, you get nothing.

If you guys actually do want evidence, then do the research according to the protocol. If you follow the protocol, you’ll get your evidence. If not, go ahead and die thinking spiritual people are just not as skeptical as you. Keep thinking we  just believe a story such as this without verification, and valid evidence. I’m not stupid, and needed just as much evidence as you now say you do.

But you’re like someone claiming that there is no evidence for anything microscopic, then try to justify this view by refusing to use a microscope.

I got my evidence by following the rules. Get your own. or you will die refusing anything you can’t rule over.  Testimony is God’s choice for taking excuses away from people that will face a judgment call. So those of you that think you die and “it’s over”, Fyi I have actually died so I know there is “another place”… and no, science can’t know anything about that either, FULL STOP. They can’t know if a minute “here” is a year “there”, or even if there is a “there”. Scientist dig holes in the ground and measure rocks, so they will never find evidence of anything spiritual. They don’t have a clue, nor will they ever find one by digging holes in the ground.

If you keep doing what you’re doing, you’re gonna get what you already have, but if you want evidence, it’s “there”….not “here”, and it damn sure isn’t in my pocket.
