A&E my arse. What’s this country coming to? The first amendment supposed to assure that we can freely express our belief, without infringement from the government. But in today’s quest to be politically correct, government is leaning towards forcing people to accept, and even advocate same sex marriage, regardless of their religious preferences. Meanwhile, the gay rights advocates are nudged to show their flag, while Christian organizations, or any other people at all (such as the recent A&E Duck Dynasty star, Phil Robertson’s comments), are told to “shut up. We don’t want to hear it”. The first amendment (imo) may as well be re-named “the double standard clause”. Also, imo, A&E is insulting all Americans that hold that same view.
In other words, it may seem like all these politically correct advocates are pushing for tolerance, but what they are really doing is advocating intolerance. I can accept, and even become friends with a gay person, but I should not be forced to embrace a view of sexuality that is in opposition to my faith, period. This is against my constitutional right to embrace whatever I want to embrace, as far as religion, and whatever that involves, “as long as it’s legal”…
But how much longer, if we continue on our current course, will my faith be legal? Think this is too far out there? Better think again.
Not exactly off topic, but let’s look at what someone said about another controversial issue, abortion. See; the issue is not really the acts or rights to involve yourself in them without ridicule, but the use of double standard that has crept into our constitution…
“It’s the logic of the Civil War,” comparing abortion rights to slavery. “If morality is the point here, and if it’s right or wrong, not just a political question, then you can’t have 50 different versions of what’s right and what’s wrong.”
-Mike Huckabee
Mike Huckabee recently defended Phil Robertson’s anti-gay remark (he’s going to run for president, btw). The source that I learned about this from, had this to say about Huckabee: (see crooksandliars link below)
“It should come as no surprise that Mike Huckabee led the charge to defend Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson. After all, Huckabee was trafficking in anti-gay bigotry and rewriting American racial history long before he turned up.”
So if you do happen to oppose anything that coincides with your religious beliefs, you’re a bigot, but if you agree with a certain “group”, you’re not. You’re are a patriot. What?
Mike Huckabee said this, and I think I may just vote for him because of it…
“Well, I think it has come to a point in our culture where political correctness has made it so that if you want to take a point of view that is traditional, that holds to steadfast, old fashioned biblical Christian values, which are also, by the way, values of traditional Judaism, and even Islam, that somehow you’re supposed to just shut up and keep that to yourself. But if you want to advocate for same sex marriage, we’re supposed to be very tolerant. I’m tolerant of people who have a position on that issue that is contrary to mine. But I’m not tolerant of the intolerance.”
I agree. The issue again is double standard. Marriage in fact, is a standard.
“Last week, former Arkansas Governor and Baptist Minister turned Fox News regular Mike Huckabee enjoyed several days of uninterrupted media attention. On Monday, his son David announced his father would be launching his own news and culture web site–Huckabee Post–in January. That same day, Governor Huckabee announced he was “keeping the door open” to a run for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination. Not finished there, Huckabee rushed to the front of those defending the controversial remarks from Duck Dynasty patriarch, Phil Robertson.” (from the article crooksandliars. Link below)
Huckabee is constantly being bashed because of statements he has made about gay lifestyles, and the health risk involved, (such as AIDS) and his words twisted out of context because they happen to have evolved from his religious convictions. He said once that AIDS should be treated as a plague, and instead is treated as a “civil rights issue”. Is it my civil right to carry a potentially terminal, contagious disease, that I could spread if I “choose to”? Instead, his words and meanings are twisted out of context, as are our own Scriptures by the unbelieving population, to mean “anti-person” (add any person), instead of “anti-sickness”, and the right to be well. He also said this about same sex marriages…
“Well, I don’t think that’s a radical view to say we’re going to affirm marriage. I think the radical view is to say that we’re going to change the definition of marriage so that it can mean two men, two women, a man and three women, a man and a child, a man and animal.”
I’ll say it again. I agree. The issue again is double standard. Marriage in fact, is a standard.

Some final words from Huckabee…
“I didn’t get into politics because I thought government had a better answer. I got into politics because I knew government didn’t have the real answers, that the real answers lie in accepting Jesus Christ into our lives…I hope we answer the alarm clock and take this nation back for Christ.”
