Just a short note on the times we’re living in. Also, a note on our vision. Everything Spiritual is manifested in the flesh. This is the cause of many misconceptions and seeming contradictions in Scripture. That’s also why God says to let your eye be single. (Matthew 6:22-23)
In other words, you probably have heard the saying, or read the verses about the “great falling away of the church”. well, all I have to say about that is another saying you’ve probably heard. “That’s one way to look at it”. In fact, God is gathering his church at this time. Some people will see a falling away, and some of us will see a gathering.
I have a question. It’s about another “saying” you’ve heard all your life…
Jesus is coming here…one day?
My question? Are you ready? I know we’ve all heard this a million times. How often do you think, “this really could be the day”? Well consider this. How long do you think any of us will live? How long have you lived so far? Now, do the math. You should come up with this…
It’s sooner than it ever has been, ever. Now when I say ever, I would just say the prophets of old, and the Apostles, and even the angels all groan while waiting for the days we are now living in. Indeed, as Scripture says, for the day we are now in. (Romans 8:19-25)
Our pastor is given the word to deliver to His people, and this he does. When we get that word, we pass it to on to you. The word this week is, get ready. Get ready for Jesus, because He is on the way. It’s literally sooner than you think, and He’s not alone. The host of Heaven is coming too. We that are here, first must be gathered together. (John 11:52)
“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.” (John 14:3-4 KJV)
So, if the word that was given to us this week is, get ready; look around your house. If Jesus comes knocking today, are you ready for Him to be there? Is there anything there that shouldn’t be there? Is your house in order?
Why does He say He comes as a thief? The same reason He says to watch, and wait. Those of us that have our house in order, have checked more than twice, and have made sure we are ready, and now we sit… and more important, we are waiting and watching. (Luke 12:37)
When Jesus comes to my house, He will find my hose in order, and me waiting for Him. This is not something to keep in the back of your mind somewhere. Be sober and diligent, in season and out. Sober? It means “aware”, and has nothing at all to do with alcohol. It means to keep this at the front of your thoughts, and not in the back of your mind. (see 1st Thessalonians 5:6)
“Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for as in such an hour as ye think not the Son of Man commeth. Who then is that wise and faithful servant? Blessed is that servant, whom his Lord when He commeth shall find so doing.”
(Matthew 24:42-46 KJV)
Are you ready? If He shows up in the next ten minutes, will you be ready to meet Him? If not, please take this opportunity to prepare yourself. Then you can rest easy, and enjoy the wait.
