Ecclesiastes 1:9 …”and there is no new thing under the sun.”
Most of you are aware of the removal of God from our public schools, government buildings, and the seemingly relentless quest to rid society of the plague that is religion. Just how bad is it, really? More importantly, how bad can it get? It would seem that America is slowly but surely getting rid of Jesus. In schools, government and public buildings, and in the media…it has become taboo to mention faith in God, or profess Jesus as Lord of anything.
In my apologetic discussions with atheist, our faith in the living God has been called a plague on society. We’ve all been brainwashed into believing a myth…a fantasy…and all our experiences…illusion. Would you, as Christians be shocked to learn that as it is, “right now”, the atheist are correct, and would be fools to think otherwise?
If you look at the second chapter of Matthew, you will see about when this started. The three wise men of the Christmas narrative are before Herod the king, and professing the wish to find a baby, so they may “worship” him. This made Herod very angry for some reason. Apparently, it still makes people angry that we would want to worship Jesus.
The prophet Jeremy spoke of this phenomena. Should we as Christians be alarmed, or worried about this? Consider this frame of mind; Herod ordered all children everywhere under the age of two to be killed. This is definitely cause for concern today. The mind Herod had then is alive and well “right now”. There is a sort of “movement” under way as we speak, (or chat), that really should be kept in mind. As an apologist, I am made aware of the frame of mind some people have “right now”. I am made aware of this, because my job as an apologist demands that I know the mind I’m discussing things with…and it is way beyond reason. If you doubt, consider what Herod did; and Hitler, and Constantine, to name a few…
Others have succeeded where they seem to have failed.
I am considered a very strange bird by many people, Christians included. I am one of the ‘nuts’ you here about that claims to have died, and met Jesus. I’ve heard all sorts of snide remarks from atheist and Christians alike. What’s completely ironic to me is that I hear, “ha ha, well, what did He look like?”, and many other cute remarks such as this; yet not once has anyone asked me what He said to me. I find this to be very odd, especially among Christians that profess a supposedly “alive today” Jesus. What has happened to cause us to become so “myth minded” as a society? The Bible is littered with scripture about this, as well as warnings that go along with them. Btw, what Jesus said to me, if you are curious, was just that. A warning about people of this age. His exact words were, “Be weary of these people. They’re dangerous”. I am writing this post to hopefully relay this message.
Do we live in troubled times? Christians have always lived in troubled times. One of the arguments that rise up from time to time are about Jesus, His bloodline coming from David, and the Scripture saying He was conceived by the Holy Spirit…and a virgin Mother. His seed, in the flesh, is from David directly, and was “delivered by” the Holy Spirit, but it’s still the flesh seed of David, and the flesh Mother Mary, that Jesus is in His entirety.
We’ve all heard to death the cry that “the end is near!” 2000, Y2K,…the Mayan calender… There seems to be a new one to replace the failed one every time. Here’s a thought. One day, in your lifetime, some prediction will win that lottery. You will see this, and are seeing the beginning of the end right now. If by chance you’re thinking, “another end-time conspiracy nut”, there’s a reason you think that. Believe it or not, not all thoughts you have are yours. I will elaborate on a future post, but for now, here’s some verses to read. First, verses that address why we have become “myth minded”, and some verses warning about the consequences of adherence to this doctrine, or “frame of mind”.
2nd Timothy, 4:4. (KJV) “And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned into fables.”
John, 16:25. (KJV) “They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time commeth, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.”
Matthew 16:6. (KJV) “Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.”
Matthew 16:12. (KJV) “Then understood they how that He bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.” (see also Rev 2.24)
2nd Timothy, 4:3. (KJV) “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine: but after their own lust shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;”
These are a few warnings that should be heeded. As far as the when “all this” will happen…consider the mark of the beast, and the Antichrist. Most people in today’s world have many interpretations of these verses, and subjects, as well as “who or what” the Antichrist is, and when “he” will appear. As far as “when” he will appear, and in what form, look at the verse mentioned below, and determine the “when” the Antichrist will appear, and in what form. This is a very vast ranging verse, and covers quite a bit of different subjects. It also covers the ones we’re talking about now. It explains the goal of the Antichrist, the Pharisees, the Sadducee, and the doctrine that they are (not ‘he is’) trying to replace the Gospel with, and have replaced it with. (Good to note here is that Jesus and the Antichrist both are thought to be events that “will happen later”, and therefore, not right now.)
It is the understanding of the differences in spirit and flesh that should be prayed for. Also take note here that it is “right now” a fact that people think it a laughing matter, when someone says they’ve “seen Jesus”. Consider this also. If you hold a belief “right now” that Jesus can’t be seen, or that He will come “one day”, then you are already suffering the consequences of the leaven of the Antichrist (and Pharisee, and Sadducee). There is a reason Jesus says “today” is the accepted day of your salvation (2nd Cornth, 6:2). He’s not coming “some day”. He’s here “right now”, and so is the Antichrist. If you think not, then the Antichrist has been successful in delivering his doctrine to you.
2nd John 1:7. “For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an Antichrist”. Note: In this verse, we see two things. First, the word “an”, referring to Antichrist. There are more than one, so don’t look for “one” to come. Second, the word “is”, referring to Jesus coming in the flesh…It states He “is come”, not “will come”.
Note: If you’re familiar with my post, you know I’m always telling people to watch out for verb tenses. The Antichrist will cause you to always use past tense verbs when talking about Jesus. Satanic influences will as well. The reason is simple. It doesn’t matter what you think, but it does matter what you say with your mouth. If Satan can get you to say “Jesus is not here right now“, he is successful. Saying with your mouth (or typing) Jesus “was”, is saying just that, and will literally make Jesus invisible to you, and those that hear you. Listen to, and notice (or take heed) when you read what people say when they mention Jesus. 1st Tim. 4:16 (KJV) “Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear the.” Do they (or you) say Jesus “said”, or Jesus “says”? Think this isn’t all that big a deal? Congratulations again is in order to the Antichrist. He’s completed his task.
The beast that deceived Eve, and the power he had over Eve, is called “subtle” (Gen. 3:1). If you still think this is “no big deal”, then know this. No big deal is the very meaning of subtle, and the frame of mind Satan put Eve in. This is a clue. If you use “said” instead of “says”, it’s actually the reason Jesus doesn’t talk directly to you. They (you) may have good intent, and be practicing iniquity unaware. To see the consequences of doing this, please read Matthew 7:23; (KJV) “And I will profess unto them, (those with good intent) I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” So you see, those that “do” or “don’t do” certain things end up apart from Jesus, and therefore, literally can’t, and don’t see or hear Him directly…”right now”
The word was made flesh (John, 1:14), and was resurrected flesh, and still is flesh. Jesus is flesh and blood “right now”, and always will be. Just like doubting Thomas, we too have the chance to see this first hand, and right now. We not only have the chance, but also a choice. But right now; there is no “later”. This is what the Antichrist wants you to believe. Saying He will come “one day”, is the same as saying, “but not today”, to be witnessed by any of us. This is also a “subtle suggestion” from the Antichrist, that results in major consequences “right now”. The consequence…not seeing or hearing Jesus, “right now”…Jesus becoming a hope for another day…a myth. ( Hebrews 11:6 says He that comes to God must believe that He “is”, not “will be”)
In closing, look at what Jesus says to, well, anyone that will hear, or can hear Him. He says “him that hath ears to hear”, and “him that has eyes to see”, quite often. I am writing this in hope that you will learn to listen for Him, and answer Him, and your “right now” be sometime sooner rather than later…Other than Jesus saying, “behold, I stand at the door and knock…” How can we learn to hear Him knock? You’re doing that “right now” =)
Luke 24 is, in my opinion, the antidote for the leaven of the Antichrist. In it, you can see, (if you pray for eyes to see, and if you look), the dilemma we are faced with “right now”. The original desciples were faced with the same dilemma, starting with Mary, who did not recognize Jesus. She was looking for “more than” a flesh and blood Jesus. What did she expect to see? What do we expect to see, and more important, when? A superhuman flying fireball in a man suit, with lightning bolt eyes? Sound familiar? This is but one verse from Luke 24. I would encourage you to read the whole thing.
“Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see: for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.“ Luke 24:39 (KJV) Note: This happened AFTER the resurrection, not before, so Jesus is NOT a disembodied spirit, as most believe. The following verse is a warning that is “do or die” for Christians. It is the subtle thought strait from the Antichrist.
“And every spirit that ‘confesseth’ not that Jesus ‘is come’ in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of Antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come: and even now already is it in the world.” 1st John 4:3 (KJV) Note: The “even now” it is already in the world, is the “when” that the Antichrist will come. This was written two thousand years ago. The “is come” was also written then, and will never be “will come”.
I have one thing to say about Jesus, and the Antichrist both…
Don’t look for things to come “later”, that are here “right now”, or you will never find them.
2nd Chronicles 7:14 -Peace all.
